MasterMac Honda by Hawk Racing and Michael Dunlop sealed two podium finishes as the prestigious North West 200 concluded in Northern Ireland over the weekend.
The event - which featured a full day of racing in glorious sunshine on Saturday after the opening races last Thursday evening - drew huge crowds to see the exhilarating spectacle on the ‘Triangle’ street circuit.
Road racing star Dunlop and MasterMac Honda by Hawk Racing entered in the three superbike races of the event.
The opening race on Thursday saw Dunlop initially caught up in the chasing pack before breaking through to capture third place on the team’s 2024 Honda Fireblade.
In the first of two superbike races on Saturday he repeated the result to again make the podium, clocking an average speed of 124.3mph, before coming home fourth in the final race.
Steve Hicken, team manager, said: “The North West 200 is one of the biggest road racing events on the calendar and it’s a great credit to Michael and the team we’ve come away with two podium finishes.
“There were a few extra challenges this year as we went with a newly delivered bike that we had to build, which will take more time to get the best from, on top of which Michael was carrying an injury to his hand.
“It’s a big boost to pick up some good results and we can take confidence from this as we get ready to go to the Isle of Man TT with Michael next month.”
Before final preparations for the TT begin in earnest, MasterMac Honda will resume its Bennetts British Superbike championship campaign with riders Charlie Nesbitt and Lee Jackson on board at Donington Parkthis weekend.
