He started his career dabbling in the 125cc World Championship between 2010 and 2011, before debuting into the Moto3 World Championship in 2012 for 8 races, securing himself a full-time ride for the 2013 season.
McPhee completed 10 full seasons in Moto3 where in 2016 at the Czech GP, he secured his maiden victory and become Scotland's first grand prix winner since 1962. However, his best campaign to date was in 2019 where he finished fifth in the championship, achieving a further victory, three podiums, and two pole positions.
The following season, he finished seventh in the championship with four podiums, a pole position and an outstanding win, coming back from 17th on the grid to claim his third career win at Misano. McPhee continued with the same team in 2022 and made a one-off appearance in the Moto2 Championship in Aragon.
His last win was in Malaysia in 2022, but a change was on the horizon for the 2023 season where he moved to the World Supersport Championship for two seasons, securing a podium on his debut atPhillip Island, Australia.
McPhee is now returning to the UK for his first experience of superbike racing in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship with the MasterMac Honda Team.
