MasterMac Honda made a positive start to the 2024 Bennetts British Superbike Championship, with riders Charlie Nesbitt and Lee Jackson taking points from both races in the Spanish sunshine over the weekend.

After a week of testing at Circuito de Navarra - a new track on the Bennetts BSB calendar - Sunday saw the opening two races of what promises to be a closely contested season.

In a one-lap qualifying shootout the previous evening, Jackson performed strongly to secure seventh place on the grid for Race One with Nesbitt not far behind in ninth.

After a number of battles throughout the race, Nesbitt ultimately maintained his position to finish P9, with Jackson coming home in P14.

With less favourable grid positions in Race Two, the new teammates both rode well to make up two places. Nesbitt again passed the chequered flag in ninth, with Jackson in P12.

Team manager Steve Hicken said: “It’s a solid start for us, and credit to Charlie and Lee for picking up valuable points in both races.

“There was a lot to learn this week, with some changes behind the scenes and Lee in his first races since returning to the team, as well as the fact it’s a new circuit for all of us.

“But the whole team has worked together well and we head home with a lot of learning and four good finishes.

“I’d like to thank everyone who played a part in Navarra, including the team, all of our sponsors and those who came out to support us. We look forward to building on this performance in the next round.”

MasterMac Honda will be back on the road next week as Bennetts BSB heads to Oulton Park in Cheshire for an official test, before the next round takes place there from 4-6 May.
